Summer Fun

I’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks, but I’ve enjoyed it. My dog had surgery to remove some skin tags and the wonderful Dr. Eisenhauer of Parkside Animal Health Center took great care of him. He never does well on drugs and fell asleep on the stairs like this. Luckily I got a picture of him. He always amuses me!

After he was up and around I did a short weekend trip with some friends. First stop was Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. We had a lot of fun walking around and checking out the animals. My favorite part was being able to interact with the giraffes. I was able to feed them when I was in Kenya, so being able to do that again brought back a lot of awesome memories.

After the zoo we went into downtown Colorado Springs where the were having the PPIHC (Pikes Peak International Hill Climb) Fan fest. We checked out a lot of cars, vendors and walked around for a bit. We decided to grab some food at a Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub and Restaurant. Their food is really good and we had the luck of going on a live music night. The Mc Deviants were debuting their c.d. that night so we hung around for awhile and enjoyed the music.

After dinner and music we decided to walk around again and watched the Red Bull stunt team do tricks. It was fun watching them, I always love the big air they catch. We walked around for awhile more and then went to our hotel room to rest up for the next day.

The next day we dressed up and attended the Colorado Renaissance Festival. We usually go every year but this was the first year we dressed up. A few of us have slowly been piecing our costumes together over the last few years. I went as a pirate, I couldn’t find my other riding boot that I was going to use so I used my spiked shoes instead. It made for a steam punkish pirate but I had a blast. If you haven’t been there yet I highly recommend it. Every weekend is themed and we went for the Celtic fest. It was a perfect ending to a fun weekend. As always pics are in a slideshow below. If you have any questions please ask. Until next time!
